Manage your alert contacts

Alert Contacts allow you to easily manage who and how a contact is notified when an alert notification is activated. From each Alert Rule, you add Alert Contacts and the contacts are notified when an alert notification is activated.

TIP

If you want your friends and family to receive alert notifications, simply add them as an alert contact and assign their contact to an Alert Rule. They do not need a My AcuRite account to receive email notifications.

Alert Contact guidelines

Be sure to set the Default Contact - when you create a new Custom Alert, the Default Contact is automatically added to an Alert Rule. For example, if you want to receive all of your alert notifications to a specific email address, set the contact as your Default Contact. By default, all System Alert notifications are sent to your Default Contact.

Need to change your email address? - simply change it from the alert contact and the update is applied to all of the Alerts assigned to the contact.

NOTE

Push Notifications from the AcuRite app are enabled directly in an Alert.

How to create an alert contact

  1. From the tab / navigation bar, tap (Settings menu).
  2. Tap Manage Alerts.
  3. Tap Contacts.
  4. Tap Add Contact.
  5. Enter the Contact Name.
  6. Enter their Email address.
  7. Tap Save.

The contact can be added to an Alert Rule.

How to edit or delete an alert contact

  1. From the tab / navigation bar, tap (Settings menu).
  2. Tap Manage Alerts.
  3. Tap Contacts.
  4. Swipe right to edit or delete a contact.
