Custom Alert Rules - receive alert notifications when monitored conditions reach a specific threshold
Custom Alert Rules notify you when a condition you are monitoring has reached a specific threshold. For example, you may want to know when an outdoor temperature sensor has reported a reading above a specific degree.
Custom Alert types
My AcuRite offers a variety of Custom Alert Types to support your monitoring needs. Each alert type is associated to a compatible AcuRite sensor. When selecting an alert type, My AcuRite verifies you have a compatible sensor.
Dew Point alert
Alert notification is generated when a Dew Point measurement is above or below a specified degree.
Dew Point is the temperature at which the air becomes fully saturated with water vapor.
Compatible sensors:
Feels Like alert
Alert notification is generated when a Feels Like measurement is above or below a specified degree.
Feels Like is a measurement of how hot or cold it really feels like outside. The Feels Like temperature is calculated and displayed only when the current temperature reading is between 40° Fahrenheit (4° Celsius) and 80° Fahrenheit (27° Celsius).
Compatible sensors: 5-in-1 Weather Station, 3-in-1 Weather Station, Temp & Humidity Sensor, Temp & Humidity Monitor
Heat Index alert
Alert notification is generated when a Heat Index measurement is above or below a specified degree.
Heat Index is measurement of how hot it feels outside and is only calculated when temperatures exceed 80° Fahrenheit (27° Celsius).
Compatible sensors:
Humidity alert
Alert notification is generated when a Humidity reading is above or below a specified degree.
Humidity, or relative humidity, is the ratio of moisture in the air as compared to the maximum amount of moisture the air can hold, which varies depending on the air temperature.
Compatible sensors:
Light Intensity alert
Alert notification is generated when the light illumination measurement (LUX) is within a specified light intensity scale.
The light intensity scale is based on the last received lux reading as defined below.
Dark/Night - displayed when the light intensity reading is equal to 0 to 500 lux.
Low Light - displayed when the light intensity is equal to 501 to 5,380 lux.
Overcast/Shade - displayed a when the light intensity reading is equal to 5,381 to 21,520 lux.
Daylight - displayed when the light intensity reading is equal to 21,521 to 43,050 lux.
Direct Sun - displayed when the light intensity reading is equal to 43,051 lux or greater.
Compatible sensors: Atlas Environmental Monitoring System
Lightning Closest Strike Distance
Alert notification is generated when a lightning strike is detected within a specified distance - one alert notification is generated per hour. If another lightning strike is detected, within the alert rule's specified distance, 60 minutes from the last alert notification a new alert notification is generated
The specified distance options include:
5 miles (8 kilometers) or less
Between 6 to 10 miles (9 to 17 kilometers)
11 miles (18 kilometers) or more
Compatible sensors: AcuRite Atlas with Lightning Detection Sensor
Rain Rate alert
Alert notification is generated when the Rainfall has exceeded the specified measurement during the current hour.
Compatible sensors:
Rainfall alert
Alert notification is generated when rainfall is either detected (including a specified measurement) or Rainfall is not detected for the current day.
Compatible sensors:
Soil Temperature alert
Alert notification is generated when a Soil Temperature reading is above or below a specified degree.
Compatible sensors: Liquid & Soil Temp Sensor
Temperature alert
Alert notification is generated when a Temperature reading is above or below a specified degree.
Example: Alert me once the temperature has risen above 90° F
Compatible sensors:
UV Index alert
Alert notification is generated when the UV Index reading is at a specific reading defined by the UV Index Scale.
The UV Index Scale provides important information to help you plan your outdoor activities in ways that prevent overexposure to the sun's rays. It was designed by the National Weather Service (NWS) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The higher the number, the stronger the rays that equal higher risk.
Low - displayed when the UV index reading is 2 or less.
Moderate - displayed when the UV index reading is 3 to 5
High - displayed when the UV index reading is 6 to 7.
Very High - displayed when the UV index reading is equal to 8 to 10.
Extreme - displayed when the UV index reading is 11 or higher.
Compatible sensors: Atlas Environmental Monitoring System
Water alert
Alert notification is generated when Water is either not detected or detected by a wired water detector sensor.
Compatible sensors: Wired Water Detector
Water Temperature alert
Alert notification is generated when a Water Temperature reading is either above or below a specified degree.
Compatible sensors: Liquid & Soil Temp Sensor
Wind Chill alert
Alert notification is generated when a Wind Chill measurement is below a specified degree.
Wind Chill is measurement of how cold it really feels outside. The wind chill formula relies on environmental data including the wind speed and the ambient air temperature, Wind Chill is a measure of how cold it really feels outside and is only calculated and displayed when temperatures are below 40° Fahrenheit (4° Celsius).
Compatible sensors:
Wind Gust alert
Alert notification is generated when a Wind Gust reading is above a specified measurement.
Compatible sensors:
Wired Humidity alert
Alert notification is generated when the Humidity reading (wired humidity sensor only) is above or below a specified degree.
Compatible sensors: Wired Temperature and Humidity sensor
Wired Temperature alert
Alert notification is generated when the Temperature reading (wired temperature sensor only) is above or below a specified degree.
Compatible sensors: Wired Temperature and Humidity sensor
