System Alerts - know when an AcuRite device may need your attention

My AcuRite continuously monitors the network communication of your Connection Device and the AcuRite sensors' wireless connection, battery level, and operating status. As an example, when a reading from a sensor has not been received for longer than two (2) hours, a Loss of Signal system alert is activated. Your AcuRite devices are the heart of the My AcuRite monitoring solution, therefore you can only silence System Alert notifications.

NOTE

If an alerting condition has returned to its expected normal condition, the alert notification is not removed from your Alerts menu. To remove a notification from your Alerts, you will need to dismiss the alert notification.

Communication Loss - AcuRite Connection Device

Alert notification is generated when My AcuRite has not received communication from a specific AcuRite Connection Device (AcuRite Access, smartHUB, PC Connect) for more than 2 hours.

The cause of this alert is commonly due to the device has lost power or its network (internet) connection.

Low Battery - AcuRite sensors

A daily alert is generated when a sensor reports low battery statuses. A low battery status is generated when the remaining battery life of a sensor is less than 25%. It's a good idea to replace the batteries soon during this alerting condition.

NOTE

If sensor readings are sent to My AcuRite by a smartHUB, an alert is generated when a sensor reports 10 consecutive low battery statuses.

Low Battery - AcuRite Access Connection Device

A daily alert is generated when an AcuRite Access device reports a low battery backup status. A low battery status is generated either when a device is operating solely on battery backup power and its remaining battery life is less than 25% or when the device is operating on AC power and there are no batteries installed.

It's a good idea to replace the batteries soon or install its battery backup batteries during this alerting condition.

Interference (Atlas Lightning Detection Sensor)

Alert notification is generated when a Lightning Detection Sensor has detected an electrical inference. Interference can impact the sensor's ability to accurately detect a lightning strike or may result in inaccurate lightning detection readings.

It's recommend the outdoor device is located at least 3 feet away from electronics that may cause interference.

Some things that can cause interference include:

Electric motors (windshield wiper motor or fan motors in cars, hard drive and optical drive motors on your computer and AV equipment, well pumps, sump pumps)

CRT monitors (PC monitor, TV)

Fluorescent light fixtures (turned off or on)

Microwave ovens (while in use)

Computers, mobile phones, and other electronic mobile devices.

Loss of Signal - AcuRite sensors

Alert is generated when a reading from a sensor has not been received for more than two (2) hours.

The cause of this alert is commonly due to the sensor does not have battery power or its readings cannot be sent to My AcuRite.

For use with an AcuRite Connection Device (AcuRite Access, smartHUB ) - verify the sensor is in wireless range of the device and the device has a network (internet) connection.

For use with a PC Connect - verify the connection between the Indoor Display and your computer is detected, power is applied to the Indoor Display, the PC Connect software is open, and your computer has an internet connection.

Wired Sensor Error - AcuRite sensors

Alert is generated when a sensor has a sensing element error.

The cause of this alert is commonly due to the wired sensor is unplugged from the device or it's damaged.
