Replace an AcuRite Connection Device
If you need to replace an AcuRite Connection Device (AcuRite Access, smartHUB, PC Connect) due to a warranty return or other condition, be sure to use the replacement feature.
When you replace an AcuRite Connection Device, its sensors are automatically added to the new device, all sensor settings and readings are retained, and accounts following you are automatically updated to the new device.
Are you sharing the device being replaced with Weather Underground? After the replacement steps are complete, you will need to create a new My AcuRite Weather Underground profile for the new Connection Device - which associates the new device with your Weather Underground Station ID. My AcuRite automatically removes the existing device's Weather Underground Sharing Profile from your My AcuRite account. No action is required to be completed in your Weather Underground account.
Are you replacing a smartHUB that has more than 7 sensors with an AcuRite Access device? An AcuRite Access device allows up to a maximum of 7 sensors. During the replacement procedure, My AcuRite only moves 7 sensors added to a smartHUB to the new AcuRite Access connection device. The 7 sensors automatically added to the AcuRite Access connection device is determined by the system’s defined order of priority: (1) AcuRite
Are you moving a Connection Device from one My AcuRite to another account? My AcuRite does not allow a single Connection Device to be in two accounts. Be sure to export (download) your sensor reading history before removing a Connection Device from a My AcuRite account.
Before you begin
New AcuRite Connection Device - be sure it's powered on and connected to your network (internet) router. At minimum, be sure there is one AcuRite sensor in wireless range of the Connection Device.
PC Connect - verify the Indoor Display is connected to your computer, the computer is on and has an internet connection, and My AcuRite Sharing is enabled from the PC Connect software.
How to replace an AcuRite Connection Device
- From the top menu, select Settings > Devices.
- From the device you are replacing, select
Replace.
- Enter the 12-character Device ID of the new device.
- Select Save to replace the device.
If you want to share the new Connection Device's readings with Weather Underground, you must create a new My AcuRite Weather Underground profile for the new device - which associates the device's 12-character Device ID and sensor with your Weather Underground Station ID.
