Share your outdoor readings with Weather Underground

You can easily share your outdoor readings with Weather Underground. To share, you will add a Weather Underground Sharing profile to your My AcuRite account. A My AcuRite Weather Underground Sharing profile includes one AcuRite Connection Device (AcuRite Access, smartHUB), one AcuRite sensor, and your Weather Underground Station ID and Station Key.

Once added, the selected sensor's outdoor readings are sent directly from the AcuRite Connection Device to Weather Underground by way of Rapid Fire updates.

NOTE

For PC Connect users only, Weather Underground sharing is configured within the PC Connection software installed on your computer.

About sharing more than one AcuRite Connection Device

Each My AcuRite Weather Underground (WU) Sharing Profile has one unique Connection Device and one sensor. Each Connection Device you share with WU is required to have its own Weather Underground Station ID and Station Key. A Connection Device can only be associated to one My AcuRite WU Sharing Profile.

As an example, if you have one Connection Device located at your primary home and another Connection Device at your vacation home - you would need to have two Weather Underground Station IDs and create a My AcuRite Weather Underground Sharing Profile for each of the Connection Devices with their own, unique Weather Underground Station ID - one for your primary home and the second profile for your vacation home.

NOTE

A My AcuRite Weather Underground Sharing profile is limited to one sensor. As an example, an AcuRite Weather Station is one sensor with multiple outdoor reading types that are all sent to Weather Underground.

Before you begin

  • Register with Weather Underground to obtain a Station ID and Station Key - required for each AcuRite Connection Device.
  • Verify sharing online is enabled for the AcuRite Connection Device you want to share. From the top menu, select Settings > Share Weather > Enable Online Sharing.

How to set up sharing with Weather Underground

  1. From the top menu, select Settings > Share Weather > Weather Underground.
  2. Select Add.
  3. Enter your Weather Underground Station ID.
  4. NOTE

Be sure to enter the ID exactly as it's displayed in your Weather Underground account - in all capital letters and is almost always comprised of eight letters and one to three numbers. If you have an "O" or "I" as the last letter before the number(s), it's very easy to mistake it as a number.

  5. Enter your Weather Underground Password (Station Key). We recommended not to copy and paste this information. The Weather Underground Password (Station Key) is case sensitive and does not allow special characters.
  6. NOTE

We recommended not to copy and paste this information. The Weather Underground Station Key is case sensitive and does not allow special characters. The password for your Weather Station is no longer the same as the password for your wunderground.com account. It's now a separate key (Station Key) that is generated specifically for each Weather Underground Station ID.

My AcuRite does not validate the Password (Station Key) entered with Weather Underground.

  7. Select the Connection Device the sensor is added to.
  8. Select the sensor. Only one (1) outdoor sensor can be shared with Weather Underground.
  9. Select Save.

How to delete a Weather Underground Sharing Profile

  1. From the top menu, selectSettings > Share Weather > Weather Underground.
  2. From the Select Remove.
NOTE

If you change your Weather Underground Station Key (password), be sure to also update in your My AcuRite Weather Underground sharing profile. It may take up to 15 minutes for Weather Underground to update in their system.
