Create a custom alert rule

The Alert Builder guides you through creating a Custom Alert Rule - including setting the condition that results in an alert notification, assigning the sensor located in the area you are monitoring, and selecting the contacts that receive a notification when an alert is activated.

NOTE

To assign a sensor to an alert rule, the sensor must be added to a Connection Device

How to create a custom alert rule

  1. From the top menu, select Settings > Alert Rules.
  2. From Alert Rules, select + Add.
  3. Provide the settings (settings may vary by alert type).
  4. If <Alert Type > is <Condition> on <Location>.

    Alert Type - select the type of condition to be monitored by the Alert Rule. What type of condition are you monitoring? For example, are you monitoring the temperature outside or maybe the temperature inside a room at your home.

    Condition- set the conditions that activates the alert.

    Location - select the sensor that is located in the area you are monitoring.

    Silence notifications for this alert - when enabled (a checkmark is displayed), you can only view active alerts from the Alerts menu. If this alert is not that critical, you may choose to silence its notifications.

    Send Alert to - select the Alert Contacts that are to receive a notification when an alert is activated. A checkmark indicates the contact is set to receive a notification.

    To add a new contact, select Add a Contact Method and add a contact.

    To remove a contact, select the checkbox to remove the checkmark.

  5. Select Save.
