Set a reading calibration adjustment for temperature or humidity

When the placement or an environment factor may impact the readings of a temperature or humidity sensor, setting a reading calibration can improve its reading accuracy.

You can set the reading of a temperature or humidity sensor to a positive or negative degree of calibration. When a reading calibration is adjusted, the sensor's readings are offset by the set amount. For example, setting the temperature calibration to a -10 results in its readings to be displayed as 10 degrees less.

NOTE

How to set an adjusted reading calibration for temperature or humidity readings is determined by the type of Connection Device.

smartHUB device - reading calibrations are set in the profile of the sensor directly in My AcuRite.

PC Connect - reading calibrations are set directly in the PC Connect software. The calibrated readings are sent to My AcuRite

When sharing with Weather Underground

smartHUB device - the readings sent to Weather Underground do not have calibrations applied - this is due to sensor readings are sent directly from the Connection Device and not from My AcuRite. Calibrated readings are only displayed in My AcuRite.

PC Connect - when reading calibrations are set directly in the PC Connect software, the readings are sent with calibrations to Weather Underground and My AcuRite.

Indoor Display - when setting a calibration directly from the unit, the calibrated readings are only displayed on the unit itself and are not sent to My AcuRite or Weather Underground.

How to set a temperature or humidity reading calibration

  2. Select the name of the Connection Device the sensor is added to.
  3. From My Sensors, locate the sensor and select Edit.
  4. Edit its calibrate setting(s). The settings available are dependent on the sensor type.
  5. Select Save to update.
